Life is great when you can entertain your neighbors as well as other guests including your close family and friends by grilling appetizers on a nice summer afternoon. What kind of treats could you grill on an open flame you might be asking yourself? Well, it is recommended that the appetizers should be something that is quick and easy and something that can be easily eaten with your fingers not something that is going to take a long time to cook, save that for a main coarse. Grilling appetizers can be fun but can be a big pain because you have to turn them more often and the grill needs to be opened more frequently letting more heat out of the cooking area, slowing down the main coarse if you are preparing an entire meal for your guests.
Kabobs would be a great choice to grill for a small or large get together and are quick and easy for appetizers too. Kabobs are easy to prepare and you can prepare them fast and it does not cost that much to make them. This appetizer can come in many different variations to suit all of your guests and will be great for the kids if you have them at a family reunion. Nice, quick and easy so that you have more time to mingle with your friends and family.
Another great appetizer to make on the grill that does not take a lot of time and is easy on the pocketbook is chicken bits. All you need to do is marinate the chicken breasts in any sauce you would like overnight. Cover the chicken breasts and put the bowl in the refrigerator and leave it in there for at least 6 hours. About an hour before you start your get together, go ahead and grill your chicken breasts. After they are done, cut the chicken into one inch pieces and serve them with some different dipping sauces. Great for on the go kids at any function and a good gathering spot to shoot the breeze with the neighbors while you are waiting for the main course.
