Nearly half of the adult population in the United States are overweight and almost a quarter of those are obese, or so state the latest researches. This is a consequence of a sedentary lifestyle, people choose passive activities in their spare time over the active ones, physical activities. This alone, is one of the most contributing factors to the problem of obesity even existing as such.
The weight loss industry is a multi-million dollar business that is growing as we speak. There are weight loss products coming out on a daily basis and there are always people who blindly rush and buy the new products in a desperate need to shed off those unwanted extra pounds. If those products were in fact good and were actually helping costumers in their struggle, than there wouldn’t be a product mania every weekend. If you think the whole weight loss industry is a scam, than you can rest assured, there are still solutions out there, that will help you and you don’t need to throw your money into a safe deposit box just yet. You should know that health risks are not the only you are facing as an obese person.
I would say that mental issues are just as troublesome as physical ones. Discrimination, is one of the toughest problems these people have to face in their daily lives, especially obese women are facing the risk of being penalised, mostly with lower wages, due to their physical appearance. Statistics show that number of overweight women has drastically increased in the past twenty years, there are forty percent more obese women today and this alone is a fact that shouldn’t be taken lightly.
Your body requires a wide variety of nutrients to remain healthy and fit. Removing any of the following, protein, carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals, amino acids could prove harmful and would have dangerous consequences. So you should view any diet that removes an entire food group with caution. Many diets tell you to run to your storage and throw out all of your favourite threats, in order to prevent the temptation. That could work for the most determined and devoted people, but this is not a perfect world and many live together with someone that does not share your experience. If so you should make sure you have enough of your own food in your house to prevent you from giving in.
Many people have habits of having snacks at certain occasions, such as eating in front of TV. Try to avoid those, by having enough healthy snacks at your side. Try to avoid getting hungry, it will speed up your weight loss process and it will also prevent you from overeating. You should keep in mind that people generally aren’t supportive and will most likely mock you, especially if this isn’t your first try at losing weight. In order to avoid that, try to keep this for yourself, you know best what you need to do. You can of course share this with people you know will be supporting you, such as friends who share your lifestyle. People will also be working against you and will be trying to push you into temptation, try to stand strong and avoid that, you are after all trying to change your life and this takes sacrifice. Y
ou could also get a hobby, since many people revert to old eating habits while doing nothing, getting something to do would help you a great deal. You could also spend more time doing physical activities, since a diet without a good exercise is only a part time solution. You might lose weight initially, but due to your passive lifestyle you might end up gaining all that back in matter of months. Also lacking in physical activity can show in decrease of muscle mass. Even tough body fat is the one that can be causing increased blood pressure, strokes and diabetes.
